WaterfallIQ can import operating data directly from Excel or CSV files exported from your property management system.

Import process

  1. Go to the Operating tab and click Import
  2. Upload your file
  3. Map columns to GL accounts using the matching tool
  4. Review the preview and confirm

GL code matching

WaterfallIQ automatically matches rows in your import file to GL accounts using the GL code column. If a code isn’t recognized, you can manually map it during the import review step.

Period mapping

Each column in your import file maps to a month. WaterfallIQ detects the date format automatically — make sure your column headers are in a recognizable date format (e.g. Jan-2025, 2025-01, 1/1/2025).

Actuals vs budget

During import you’ll select whether the data represents actuals or budget figures. You can import both separately and WaterfallIQ will display them side by side in the grid.
